Meet Akudee

Chief Calista Akudee Duru understands the power of possibility – because she has lived it herself. Growing up in poverty in southeast Nigeria, her family often struggled to afford even necessities. But when she relocated to the United States in the 1980s, she brought an unshakeable faith that through hard work and perseverance, she could build a better life.

Armed with relentless grit and resilience, Chief Duru taught herself the healthcare industry from the ground up. Though the road was long, she powered through obstacles to ultimately establish six highly successful home health agencies across Ohio: Twins With Care Home Health, Blessing Home Care, Gold Home Health, Diamond Home Care, The Angels Home Health Care, and more. As Director of Clinical Services for each venture, she ensures premium care for every patient.

Chief Duru actualized her American dream through these businesses. But for her, success is only worthwhile if it is shared. Every step of her journey now drives her expanded mission to give back.

She prioritizes women’s empowerment programs, aiming to uplift and embolden disadvantaged women as she was lifted. She paves paths to education for hundreds of children, understanding its ability to shift generations. She lends hands, voice, and resources to the deaf community, youth initiatives, and shelters and orphanages. If someone is in need – Chief Duru is ready to step in and help them rewrite their story.  

For Chief Duru, humanitarian work is not a choice but a calling. Her own life story fuels her relentless advocacy to provide opportunities for others. She knows potential lies in all people when given the chance. Her unstoppable efforts have bettered thousands – from rebuilding schools to anonymously clearing hospital bills for underprivileged patients who cannot afford critical care, to sponsoring medical missions across South East Nigeria.  

Chief Akudee Duru leads with the courageous compassion that when we lift each other, anything is possible. She turns “impossible” into “I’m possible” for people and communities fighting to build something beautiful out of nothing at all…because she has been there herself. And she will not rest until the whole world knows the power of possibility.
